Cosmos Coach Tours - A Smart Way to Go
Following the success of Globus, the Mantegazza family launched the Cosmos brand for Coach Tours in Britain in 1961.
It was in Britain, a country recovering from a war and an economy ready for budget-priced Grand European Coach Touring, that the company seized the opportunity to launch the Cosmos arm, initially catering exclusively to the British coach tour market.
The tours were so successful that Cosmos soon pioneered another form of travel; air holiday packages to the sunny destinations of southern Europe, and by 1966 had become the largest tour operator in Britain, having carried over 180,000 passengers.
Cosmos air holidays became so popular, the company formed its own airline, Monarch Airlines, in 1968, carrying over 120,000 passengers in the first year alone.
The mid 1970s saw Cosmos grow to new levels and establish offices around the world. By 1981, Cosmos coach tours were also operating in North America and Canada.
Today more than three decades later, internationally recognised coach tour company Cosmos have refined their coach tour packages to offer a unique and practical travel experience. With more than a million people returning for a second or third vacation, the Cosmos brand couldn't ask for a better testimony. Cosmos is definitely the 'smart way to go'.
